Digital Transformation in Tourism Sector

Tourism was one of the first sectors to digitalize business processes on a global scale, bringing flight and hotel booking online to become a digital pioneer. As information and communications technology (ICT) became a global phenomenon, tourism was a consistent early adopter of new technologies and platforms. A digitalized tourism sector must innovate and generate new business opportunities to ensure the continued competitiveness, growth, and sustainable development of the sector. The ultimate goal is to make a solid contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and the global development community (UNWTO, 2022). Digitization Initiative in Tourism Sector focuses on the usage of digital technology and includes all stakeholders. The implementation of digital technology is expected to assist tour villages in increasing the promotion of tourism in Priority Tourism Areas likely Mandalika and Toba independently. Picture 1. Telemedicine and Pregnancy Care

A tool that makes healthcare more accessible, cost-effective, and increases patient engagement – is telemedicine. Since making its debut in the late 1950s, advances in telemedicine have contributed to seniors having the choice to age in place. In addition, the patients that reside in rural areas that previously had difficulties accessing a physician can now reach them virtually. Physicians and patients can share information in real-time from one computer screen to another. And they can even see and capture readings from medical devices at a faraway location. Using telemedicine software, patients can see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment without having to wait for an appointment. Patients can consult a physician in the comfort of their homes. A gap between quantity and health distribution is still a big problem in Indonesia. Midwives are the vanguard to monitor mothers' health and children's health in the Indonesian Region. Therefore, the Indonesian government needs to provid...

Digitization of the Maritime Strategic Sector in Indonesia

Digitization of the Maritime Strategic Sector concentrates on the usage of digital technology in aquaculture fishery for farmers with pond areas less than 5 hectares and focuses on vaname shrimp commodities. On the other hand, this program undertakes capture fishery for fishermen with a large ship of less than 10 GT and a plunge in knitting and lobster commodities. The implementation of digital technology in the maritime value chain from upstream to downstream is expected to increase yield production and carry out the efficiency of production costs. The value chain of the Maritime Sector has four primary activities such as the provision of inputs (provision of capital...

What is an NFT? and NFT regulations in Indonesia?

An NFT is a digital asset that represents real-world objects like art, music, in-game items, and videos. They are bought and sold online, frequently with cryptocurrency, and they are generally encoded with the same underlying software as many cryptos. NFT stands for non-fungible token. It’s generally built using the same kind of programming as cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin or Ethereum, but that’s where the similarity ends.  Physical money and cryptocurrencies are “fungible,” meaning they can be traded or exchanged for one another. They’re also equal in value—one dollar is always worth another dollar; one Bitcoin is always equal to another Bitcoin. Crypto’s fungibility makes it a trusted means of conducting transactions on the blockchain.  NFTs are different. Each has a digital signature that makes it impossible for NFTs to be exchanged for or equal to one another (Conty, 2022) However, due to the current regulatory status of crypto assets in Indonesia, NFTs are not yet regulate...
